Hill's Pet Nutrition

Hills's Pet Nutrition (Topeka, KS) is initiating an internship project to invent improved ways to determine product structures using advanced instrumentation and computational software. It's an important project to Colgate/Hill's, and will offer a student a strong research and development learning experience.

The intern's particular field of academic study is not a primary criterion for selection. Hill's is seeking a person with solid technical interests and academic understanding -- whether their major is grain science, chemistry or physics, biology, engineering or another technical field. Key skills must include the ability to perform key research and development activities, including:

  • rigorously executing experiments to obtain valid results
  • critically analyzing results and experimental plans, including performing computations
  • adding value to instrumental techniques, such as developing algorithms for computer programming
  • researching pertinent literature
